HI there, I'm new!

I just found a psychotherapist in my area that practices eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She says it works faster than talk therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy, and is less traumatizing as well. Does anyone have any experiences they'd like to share? I'm super stoked to try it!

Cheers!
Acorn

Hi! I personally haven't had EMDR but have heard good and bad about it. If you are stable and ready to deal with trauma then it can help. However, I know of people who have literally lost their minds after doing it. One got Psychosis the other decompensated and has never recovered. Be careful.
