I've taken 2 kolotipins this week. I want to take one tonight to quiet my head and make sure I don't hurt myself. Problem is my new pnurse can't prescribe benzos. I may NEED it tomorrow or Monday and I don't want to get addicted by taking it often when I no longer have a prescriber. I'm not desperate but I'm not sleepy yet. Should I wait till like 2 am?

try warm milk ... music ... an enjoyable book ... relax your mind or just wear yourself out as I do .... you can do it without benzo's ... it's your decision .... if you can not get them anymore might as well start your new sleep habit tonight ... just stay positive ... you can do this ...

laid in the dark for hours, tried the warm milk, still can't calm my head, waiting until my husband gets done his game to drive me shopping.

You only took two in the whole week. You'll be fine as long as you're not taking them regularly. I hope you feel better soon. Take a hot bath. A hot cup of tea. Some melatonin maybe. Get some rest. ((Hugs))

I'm worried it's becoming more and more often.

What is?? The klonopin? It's ok if you need it then you need it. Just a few in a week won't hurt you. Some people are on them every day. Have you ever tried gabapentin? I'm on a high dose and i don't even need my PRN anymore.

If you don't mind me asking, what dosage of Clonazepam do you take?

Most people need to be taking it almost daily for at least a few weeks to develop a dependancy that is difficult to come off of. It is wise of you to try not to develop a dependancy but if it's an emergency I say take the PRN, or even half if you are worried you won't have access to any more for some days.

Have you ever tried gabapentin? No I'll see what PN wants to put me on the 22nd.

If you don't mind me asking, what dosage of Clonazepam do you take? just .5 but it makes me tired. I know I need to sleep. I only have it for at most 9 more days I just don't want to rely on a med that will no longer be there.

How long have you not been able to sleep? Is it possible you're getting manic? That's how I know I am... when I'm only sleeping 2 hours a night. Just happened last week and pdoc upped my seroquel to bring me down. So sleep is important and .5 is a tiny tiny dose. Don't worry.

I've been sleeping less and less since Monday-ish. It's gotta be mixed episode. my head is so loud, everything is so loud. I'm hoping my husband will take me shopping when he gets done his game. I'm not thinking of SH right now which is good.I only need it for sleep now not safety.

If your having an episode don't be afraid to ask for help. Contact your pdoc if you don't sleep tonight. I get the same way when I'm mixed. Every sound makes me cringe. I have thoughts of hurting others sometimes too. That's really bad. I hope you land softly and get some sleep.

I don't officially have a pdoc/nurse until the Tuesday after next. I have to wait it out or go to the hospital. I'd rather take the kolotipin until the 22 then go to the hospital.

Yes that's a good plan. I know you tried so hard to be off meds but we all know it comes full circle eventually. If you get SH thoughts go to ER

Well I slept 2.5 hours without it. I'll probably take it today at some point. I'm using the kolotipin instead of the Er. I'd rather sleep through this then be in the hospital. It's becoming more and more apparent that I'll be going back on medication.

Klonopin helped me stay out of the ER. Your doctor can tell you how much and how long you'd need to take it to form a dependency. It's a valid concern but these medications are useful and should be taken when the situation calls for it. I used it to calm agitation and force myself to sleep. It was effective.

I'm using it tonight if I don't sleep until 11 pm.
