I need to quit following politics. This is seriously affecting my mental health. Build the wall around the haters!

Hello just call me al: Well... the Skeezyks doesn't pay any attention to politics.
 He has withdrawn from the world.  I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks!  I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.  PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

I have that song "you can call me al" going through my head. I'm sorry you are so effected by the election and wish walls to be built to keep you safe from what you see as the "haters". Everything is still fresh and our feelings are bound to go up and down for awhile. (((Hugs)))

Why worry for something you don't have any control over?.
It's like trying to stop the rain. Those of us who are mad, have to get it out of our system. Either way, welcome to PC.

I can totally relate. I have always followed politics but, this particular election as thrown me into a depression. I've turned off the news and am trying to get my wits about me but it's definitely a process.

Welcome!! I am an Australian so the election doesn't impact me like you but I can see many people are struggling because of the outcome. Great to have you here. Keep posting.
