Has anyone else experienced a dumbing down after taking Lamictal for a while. I'm not a genius, but I have a pretty high IQ. I am a moron now. My words won't come to me. I can't get my head wrapped around tasks and I have the ambition of a dairy cow. I take: Lamictal 400 mg, Wellbutrin 150 mg., Vyvanse 70 mg., Seroquel 150 mg., Ropinerole 2 mg. Any suggestions?

I wish I knew the answer, but I'm a moron now, too. Lots of these meds seem to slow down brain function. I took Lamictal for years. I'm off of it, but still rather clueless.

I've been on Lamictal for a long time and haven't noticed this, but sometimes I'm not as sharp as I'd want to be on Seroquel. Are you positive it's the Lamictal? Just wondering since you're on quite a few meds.

I have dropped my lamictal down to 200 from 400 to see if it would help ease my rash .... and yes I do feel different ... maybe not sharper ... but not quite as slow as I may have been .... of course I stopped the doxipen also ... so not sure what did what ... been on these psych meds for 4 years now ... yes I feel they have limited my social ability and my ability to form complete sentences .. of course I never was too sharp to begin with ....

I am thinking the same thing about Lamictal. At 250mg, I was sharp as a tack. At 300mg now, and I am having some issues where I feel stupid, or it takes me longer than it should to answer someone or come up with words. Gonna go back to 250 and see what happens

Be sure to get your Omega 3's. That will help. But otherwise...I take it, but who knows what has caused my memory impairment and all that jazz. Talk to your psychiatrist about it.

I too was having the same problems at 300 mg., including significant balance issues. I noticed a real difference when my dosage was lowered to 200 mg. I also take the same dosage of Wellbutrin, so I wonder if your other meds might also be contributing to your cognitive issues?
