Mine is the song by My Chemical Romance called
"It's not a fashion statement, it's a f***ing deathwish!" my favorite lyric??? "I'm Taking Back The Life You Stole!" that's what I told myself when I first got sick, I was taking my life back from the bipolar. Just curious if anyone else has a 'fight song' against their bipolar? |

'Yesterday was the tornado warning, today is like the morning after Your world is torn in half, you wake and let's wait to start the morning process Rebuilding and you're still a work in progress Today is a whole new chapter, it's like an enormous ***** The thunderstorm has passed ya Your weather didn't poke his eyes out with the thorn bush that you Used to smell the roses, stopped to inhale can't even tell your nose is stuffed So focused on the brightside, then you floor the gas pedal And hit the corner fast, the more asserted Never looking back, may hit the curb But everyday is a new learning curve, as you, steer through life Sometimes you might not wanna swerve But you have to to avert a disaster, lucky, no permanent damage Cause they hurt you so bad, it's like they murdered your ***** And threw dirt on your casket, but you returned from the ashes And that hurt that you have, you just converted to gasoline And while you're burning the past, standing at inferno and chant I'm standing in the flames It’s a beautiful kind of pain Setting fire to yesterday Find the light, find the light, find the light' '

It's my war by Safura.
My words should comfort you Instead They’re like bullets to your Head My hands should pressure to Your wounds But they only scar and bruise Only I know why Dark waters run deep inside You’re so close to my rivers Edge Just don’t fall Insde I’m still fighting The battles that blind me It’s my iron curtain that You’ll never bring down Don’t try to disarm me Of weapons that guard me Can’t hide from my enemy now Because it’s my war It's my war Although I want you on my side The soldier fights alone Sometimes If I run cover me But don’t take a hit for me Insde I’m still fighting The battles that blind me It’s my iron curtain that You’ll never bring down Don’t try to disarm me Of weapons that guard me Can’t hide from my enemy now Because it’s my war I don’t want to be saved I want you to understand That I can’t Be fixed by you When this war is over I’m coming home Inside I’m still fighting The battles that blind me It’s my iron curtain that You’ll never bring down Don’t try to disarm me Of weapons that guard me Can’t hide from my enemy now Because it’s my war It’s my war It’s my war

This is a dark song but Bonnie Price Billy (writer) is showing hope, w will to live despite the darkness he feels. I can really relate to this song, it helps me to hang on even when there is no light;
I See a Darkness "Well, you know I have a love A love for everyone I know And you know I have a drive To live, I won't let go But can you see this opposition Comes rising up sometimes? That it's dreadful imposition Comes blacking in my mind And then I see a darkness"

Fiagpole Sitta "other none as" I'm Not Sick But I'm Not Well!
I had visions, I was in them I was looking into the mirror To see a little bit clearer Rottenness and evil in me Fingertips have memories Mine can't forget the curves of your body And when I feel a bit naughty I run it up the flagpole and see who salutes (But no one ever does) I'm not sick but I'm not well And I'm so hot cause I'm in hell Been around the world and found That only stupid people are breeding The cretins cloning and feeding And I don't even own a tv Put me in the hospital for nerves And then they had to commit me You told them all I was crazy They cut off my legs now I'm an amputee, god damn you I'm not sick but I'm not well And I'm so hot cause I'm in hell I'm not sick but I'm not well And it's a sin to live so well I want to publish zines And rage… Quote:

My compliments on an excellent thread idea. They're all bipolar fight songs... probably Guided By Voices' How's My Drinking or Creeper Lagoon's Chance of a Lifetime. Thanks for asking.

It's either Fight Song by Rachel Platten or Summer, Highland Falls by Billy Joel.

I'm still thinking about my fight song. I know there is perfect one and I will think of it. Right now I'm in a melancholy mood and listening to Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam. Usually I'm all about the lyrics but in this song you can't really make them out which is part of the appeal and my emotions fill in the words via emotional language. It's a beautiful song and very powerful.
