Has anyone ever observed small thing that happen before a mood change? I am trying to stay on top of things.

That would be like a trigger I believe. There's a few people in my life that trigger my mixed episodes. I try not to talk to these people more than I absolutely have to. And any stressful situations in life can cause depression. I hope I answered your question correctly lol.

Pay attention to your sleep patterns. That is what I notice first. Then I start talking more and perhaps fast and with great detail and depth. For depression I start needing more sleep and lose interest in everything. (((Hugs)))

Sleep changes, Energy changes, new obsessions and fixations, desperate NEED to be talkative wether or not its in real life or online.

then sometimes all is going well and BAM my mind switches to manic, or mixed. Depression is usually a slow burner for me but i can switch between euphoric mania and mixed in a heart-beat. To be honest I think some of my sudden switches are PTSD related.

Impulsive behavior like driving crazy on the road. Being much more preoccupied with negative thoughts about others.

I'll also chime in on the sleep, that's often the first symptom.

And for me when my dog is literally attached to me I know something is coming so, he senses it long before me. I increase my coping skills.
