Nicely said wild thing!
we are going to a pot luck at 3, just got done making a crawfish dip, and will make a big green bean casserole, traditional with the crispy fried onions on top.
yum! They are brining an organic turkey as we speak...or maybe it is already in the oven.
I am thankful for my family and friends.
Thankful to doc john for these forums.

Green bean casserole is nummy! Enjoy

I'm not doing any cooking which is typical for the Holidays. My mom enjoys cooking and when I'm well I bring some stuff. This year I was going to be making the rice pilaf but my husband is too sick to go to the store for ingredients and I've been too unwell to manage but my mom assured me I didn't need to bring anything but myself and my son. I hope I'm well enough at Christmas to cook. I will place a grocery order online to make sure I have ingredients in advance. Everyone who's having a nice dinner, enjoy! Those who are cooking, be sure to relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor and I hope everyone is thankful for you and all your efforts.

I'm sure you don't have to try too hard, I'm sure that it comes naturally. Do your parents speak fluent English like you do?

My step dad was born in the US so that's why as moved here. Me, my sister, and brother speak it fluently because of school here. My mom is a bit choppy lol you can understand her for the most part but sometimes she struggles

Счастяивого дня благодарений!

That's a very interesting stance on the holiday -- very polite.
I'm willing to bet we'd all like you to join in on the holiday, if you'd like.
I would never view your joining in as an imposition.

I'm glad you wrote in this thread, as it is truly meant for everyone!
Thank you for sharing!

Aw thank you!
Who knows, maybe in the future we'll have our own version of Thanksgiving. With our own delicacies and such.

It's been a good day!

Had 4 generations attending dinner -- ages 94 - 19 y.o.
I did a small amount of cooking -- and a lot of clean-up this year.
The main cook(s) never has to do any clean-up. That's the deal!

The best part was being together -- and watching my 94 y.o. grandmother devour a huge piece of her favorite pie, as her eyes lit up!

Also did my 2 mile walk after dinner.

I see Thanksgiving as simply a day especially set aside for gratitude.

I'll bet you have some very interesting delicacies!

We do have a lot of different meals! I've only ever had deli turkey but I hear the real thing is great.

We also had four generations. Great grandparents, grandparents, daughter, grandson. I think it was four. My GPA is 84, almost 85. My son is six. It was a great dinner. My cousin was a **** as usual but my uncle wasn't so bad. No political discussion which I appreciated, being the only liberal in the family. GreT food. A good day overall.
