He got it from a dispensary. It wasn't laced. Weed can trigger psychosis. It could be a underlying mental illness. But the pdoc thinks it's more than likely a buildup of the weed in his system. It's a long story. He wasn't doing any other drugs...

Sorry you're going through this

Hopefully it's just a buildup of weed (like the doctor thinks) instead of schizophrenia. And hopefully he'll be able to come home soon!

My son is up and down. Didn't get to go see him last night. Got a lot of snow here and it was too slick. Will be seeing him tonight. He's back on zyprexa 7.5 mgs. He's really tired on it. They're thinking of keeping him until next Friday. I hope it's not that long but whatever is best.

I'm doing better. Sleeping on just a little extra zyprexa now. I was having to take a lot extra to sleep. I'm still very worried it will turn out to be sz. I hope not but will have to wait and see.

Thanks for your support everyone.

It wasn't even that the program itself was especially great. But it gave me somewhere to go & something to do at a time when I was adrift.
My son works, so I don't think he'll have time for php. But thanks for the suggestion.

Listen, I'm not against weed. I think it should be legal everywhere. But it can lead to psychosis in some ppl. I'm here for support. This didn't happen with my son until he started smoking weed again. The pdoc in the hospital thinks it's the weed too. I'm gonna listen to her. Not some random person online.

I know I get psychotic and paranoid on weed. I once got afraid of the music that was playing at the time. But I'm bipolar. Maybe your son has an underlying condition that the weed made worse.

Don't let what one person says on a forum get to you. You have to do what you think is best for your son, but I would do it in conjunction with what the pdoc suggests.

I'm not sure. He's gonna be on aps for a couple of weeks. I think if when he comes off them and the voices return and the delusions then we'll know. Hopefully they won't return....
