I'm not into placebos. I've known them from different medications which I knew didn't work. But I got this homeopathic formula with 5-HTP and magnesium and it's called Mood Fix. It's actually working! I feel better. I actually feel happy, not just fine. I know a lot of people will say it's just a placebo, but I do disagree. I think that crystals and homeopathy do really help. I'm more of a new age hippy, but I know when something's working. I will check with my pdoc about it too. Maybe he will see something in the ingrediants that could make me manic. But for now, it's working great. I took it last night and today and it's working like a charm. I suggest it to anybody.

Some supplements do have legitimate mood effects with have some scientific evidence of effectiveness, so it's not all placebos and nonsense. 5-HTP and magnesium are among those, as are omega-3s and Vitamin D. They aren't really a treatment by themselves, but can boost the effectiveness of more established treatments like medication and therapy.
Homeopathy is sometimes used synonymously with holistic healthcare, but they aren't the same thing. Homeopathy is widely debunked as a complete pseudoscientific fabrication, unlike nutritional supplements which can legitimately help. Sounds like this Mood Fix stuff is more the latter. Definitely worth discussing with a pdoc just in case there could be interactions with anything else you're taking, but if not, and it's affordable and seems to help, why not? |
