I'm not sure what's causing this, but I've been dealing with significant dissociation. I feel like I'm in a parallel universe and am disconnected from the people I love around me. I feel like I am literally beyond the looking glass, and trapped in here with me is the jabberwocky... a monster that is stalking me.

This feeling scares me, especially the monster. I know this monster. This is the monster that forces me to hurt myself and tells me I have to kill myself. I want nothing to do with it.

What should/can I do?

In the past I have dealt with bad dissociation. It is extremely disorientating and frightening. Are you under stress and/or anxiety? That is what causes it for me. Definitely see the pdoc ASAP. It can cause a whole host of problems. Take care.

Fortunately I'm meeting my pdoc tomorrow.

Yes, I'm highly anxious right now. It might be caused by a new medication I started recently, or it might just be this time of year that I tend to get anxious.

I can deal with dissociation but not with the monster. It scares me because in the past I've listened to it.

I am glad you're seeing your doctor tomorrow. Hopefully s/he can help you with both the dissociation and the monster. Must be scary. Let us know how you go.
