I don't know what the heck he was saying....He went to take my blood pressure and I said I don't remember you doing this last time.
He said, thats because...I noticed last time and noticed this time that when you come in you are hyperfocused on one thing and miss everything around you...he said "thats ok" and he said its a sign of Bipolar and not ADHD...(I never talk about ADHD so ?) Anyway, it took me back because it didn't sound right "hyperfocused" with the number "ONE"? I didn't think fast enough at the time why this bothered me. But that is exactly why. Makes no sense. So I start looking up hyperfocused with Bipolar Then I looked up hypofocused with Bipolar Both times I got information on these terms being used in ADHD. But now I guess I'm focused on this! |

Thank you SO much this was driving me banana's and this is the context he was using for me today
Hyperfocus is a problem when the person experiencing it begins to ignore the world around them. Time passes without realizing it. Others are ignored and responsibilities fall by the wayside. At that point, and especially when it happens repeatedly, it’s no longer a positive state like flow, but becomes debilitating. I definetly ignore the world around me and I'm always in my head or focused on just one thing. I didn't ask him what one thing I was focused on "today" cause it i knew he would say the LORAZEPAM. Didn't want to go back to that topic after he raised it to 3x a day. whew. |
