Do any of you feel like when dealing with more depression or anxiety, you have this illusion of everything being so much worse than it is? Like almost a paranoia or fear that things will go bad if they haven't already gone bad? Mine is often related to work: I often fear getting in trouble or getting fired.

The good news is I have started an antidepressant a week and a half ago, and so far I'm starting to do better. I'm hoping I will continue to improve and feel more positive about things.

Anyone else have a story about their journey with dealing with this sort of thing? Or any advice?

Yes. In fact, I tend to think of things as either going great or truly disastrous. I have not grey area. It's something I'm currently working on. I have to remind myself that just because things have not gone as planned doesn't mean that it's a failure. It's definitely not second nature to me yet, but I am more aware of it and can deal with it a little better now.

I commonly feel that way too.

Do you go to therapy? Therapy has helped me combat this issue... somewhat. I'm also considering purchasing and using a DBT workbook because, like worriest, I see everything in black and white and I know I'm not controlling my emotions well. Maybe that's something to consider?

I didn't know what DBT was, so I looked it up and found a free PDF if anyone is interested:
