I've been into (for me) a pretty bad depression for almost 2 weeks. Sleeping all the time, not being able to work, suicidal thoughts. I went to bed last night at 7pm for example.. not being able to handle. Anyway... I woke up around 6 and for the first time ever.. I forgot to take my Lamictal (200 mg). All of a sudden I feel like the depression has broke. Moving fast, feeling good.

Can missing a single dose trigger a break like this???

I really don't know but i missed my meds one night due to having a stomach bug and I could not sleep the entire night.
when i took my meds the next night i slept much better, so maybe it had something to do with it?

I'm sure it's a coincidence I suppose. I remember when I started taking Lamictal it made me a little sleepy in the morning for a few days... but as I started titrating up I practically went hypo for a few weeks. I never saw the need to split the dosage or take at night. So... I don't know.

When I miss a dose of lamictal I feel it for sure. I don't know that I feel what you described but I feel weird and out of control

Well I do feel like the depression is lifting.. but when I posted this it sure seemed like I was moving further up the spectrum. I don't know.. I think it was just a coincidence. Bad depressions like I just went through... the sleeping and dysfunction don't last more than a few weeks for me anyway. I also ended up taking half my dose.. so maybe that kicked in.

In retrospect.. this was a silly post. :-)

Not really a silly post, it's a worthwhile question.

I think a better question would have been... 'What is it like to miss a dose?' or something like that. I remember when I was on adderall.. missing one was enough to crash me.

I hear you on that one. Most of the stimulants are very short-acting, and have substantial withdrawal issues.

I really try to never miss my lamictal because it will likely mess up my sleep. I can be ok with one dose but more no more. If I miss more I will start to get depressed again, lots of crying and outbursts.

Okay.. good to know. I just went through a crappy depression while on it (I don't take anything else). Good to know that it helps to stave depression for other folks. I'm looking into something else right now to bolster it..

I miss a day of my meds here and there, never noticed much of a difference next day (I take my meds at night). the only exception to this is my vyvanse (take in the morning). if I miss that I'm sluggish and slow from the other meds, and I cant focus on anything because of the ADD/ADHD. that one makes a serious difference. but the others... not so much.

If I miss a single dose of clozapine I stay up all night and the next day have immediate early warning signs for mania/psychosis. I also have withdrawals symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, shaking, chills/sweats, and diarrhea.

I don't notice much if I miss one day of pills but missing my blood thinner would be a bad idea.
