My doctor just prescribed me pristiq 50mg to be taken at night along with seroquel 100mg. Wondering if theres a serotonin syndrome connection? When i say at the same time i mean taken same time together everyday.

I take 300mg of Effexor and 15mg of Abilify. Well, I take the generic versions, but the only difference is in packaging. I've never heard of Serotinin Syndrome, however, I do know that Abilify works with my Effexor to help treat my depression and other symptoms (fits of inexplicable anger and episodes of derealization) that Effexor alone wasn't able to treat.

I take Lexapro + Abilify at the same time everyday. No serotonin syndrome.

SS is very rare just like Lamictal SJS rash is very rare: Prevention, Recognition, and Management of Serotonin Syndrome - American Family Physician

Edit:
there are roughly 325,000,000 people in the US and 46,000 SS cases. That's a 0.014% chance of getting it. I wouldn't worry about it

I take an antipsychotic (Geodon) and Trintellis (was Brintellix). I've also taken Geodon with Prozac. I didn't have any trouble with either combination.

I've been taking mood stabilizers and anti-depressants together for years. No problem so far.

I took a full dose (30mgs) Abilify with low-ish dose (20mgs) celexa, and I was good to go, until the typical SSRI adverse effects caught up with me. Now I"m on high(ish) dose (400mgs) Wellbutrin SR with the Abilify. No problems.

Some drugs you have to take at different times of the day to avoid an interaction with the metabolism, for they will use the same liver enzyme and alter the way drugs are metabolized, and can cause an increase or decrease in the drugs effects.
