When I was on seroquel I slept about 16 hours a day. Now that I'm off it I can't sleep at all. I've slept like 3 hours each day. Either I'm adjusting or I'm about to be manic. Help...?

3 hours is very little. When I sleep as little I am hypo. Can you take a benzo or some kind of medication as needed?

My p prescribes me Promethazine which is not addictive and I use to take it when I cannot sleep.

I have a benzo I take regularly but it doesn't help with sleep.

It's likely your body adjusting to the lack of Seroquel. I'd give it a couple days and if it doesn't resolve, call your doc.

I'd get in touch with your doctor. Even one night of poor sleep has a tendency to mess things up with me.

How long should it take to adjust? I haven't been able to sleep for 4 days now. I haven't noticed any other symptoms yet, so not sure what's going on.

What do you do prior to bed ?

Phone/ computer?

TV

The reason I ask is many people have horrible sleep hygiene which can and will totally screw up your ability to sleep.

No electronics 2 hours before bed

No tv

No reading . Altho War and peace ...27 lb book might help you to sleep just to avoid reading that door stop. lol

Listen to soothing music nature and yoga are usually best

Soothing tea

Take a shower or bath which helps settle your mind, essential oils , I prefer vanilla and sandal wood . Do not use activating ones like any citrus etc

Even if your unable to sleep make yourself stay horizontal for at least 6 hours, often it's so boring you might actually go to sleep.

Hopefully you find something to help you sleep

Thank you very much. I don't really watch TV and the main reason I use my phone is to come on here or listen to music. Before bed I always shower, for like an hour lol, as long as I'm not super depressed. Then I usually just lay down and listen to music before eventually making my way to bed.

I do drink tea a lot.

No reading? I'll have to remember that.

Usually when I'm not sleeping I'm laying in bed staring at the ceiling, so nothing exciting.
