Tonight is our first MI support group for two counties. I am the facillitater. We have created an awesome flier and I have delivered them all over town. I mounted the posters for the group and have bought 4 easils. A church that supports MI will be hosting the group in their parlour. Its an hour and a half meeting. Hope we get a good turnout. I was trained over a two day weekend with NAMI. It was super hard. I'll do the best I can. Our county needs this group. That's why I volunteered.

There's one little problem I am drinking beer this morning. Yes I am a royal fup. I will stop soon and sober up before the mtg. I woke up and had some left over and wanted to feel good this morning. I hope I stop. I hope I don't drive drunk to the store to get more. I'm sorry I'm such a dissappointment. I hope I dont ruin the meeting that Ive worked for for months to create

I have been attending a NAMI Connections group for some years. It is excellent. In the autumn I was asked to train as a facilitator, which I am very excited about, but no one has arranged the training sessions yet.

The best of luck with your group, zijax!

It's easy. Read the rules. At ours we use a timer. 6 min for each person.

It went pretty well. 8 people showed up. Everyone shared their current situations/difficulties and got positive input from others. One guy went on so long and me and the other facillitater didn't know how to cut him off so another lady in the group did. I've got to be more assertive in that area. We were susposed to bring timers but we forgot. Anyway I think it went well overall, not perfect, but hey, we were there and we did it so that's something

Remember your cell phone has a timer. I use it all the time with my niece when we are transitioning so I don't have to hear "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" at a pitch that makes dogs howl.
