I don't understand: Why do "popular" people (not celebs, but popular people in your life) think they can get away with everything? Why do they feel entitled? (Rhetorical questions.)

One of my co-workers f***ed me over on a workshop that we were running at a conference I went to on Friday and Saturday. Basically: my boss forced me to work with him, I spent 2 weeks preparing workshop materials because he was too lazy to do anything, 5 minutes before the presentation he decides he wants to do it his own way (even tho everyone told him not to), and finally, when it came to presentation time, he did NOT tell me what he was doing or let me talk. Wtf?

It just irritates me that "popular" people think it's okay to screw other people over, and think that they can get away with it. Not this time -- my boss was PISSED, and he contacted the other guy's boss. (And well, let me tell you: my boss is a lazy do-nothing, so for him to actually do something means you did something BAD.)

I'll probably get a lot of flak and people talking behind my back, only because people are more likely to believe a "popular" person. Ridiculous. These are the kinds of things that typically (but fortunately not this time) induce mood swings.

When I saw the title included "People are triggering." That in and of itself made me chuckle and I had to read. Yes, there are bosses like this, I once had one who was a bit like this. Some of our mental issues (it is always tough to sort out to what extent) are caused by toxic people and stressful environments. That seems to be what you face at work everyday.

The best way is to ask for a job description. With force. Good luck. LuV. Rock on.

I hope you find the strength to move past it. Sounds like he's going to catch hell from your boss. That's what he deserves.

Yep. Dealing with people can really affect me too. Can cause me to get really down. But then again, they can also lift me at times.
Good to hear your boss at least had your back

How true! I have a toxic neighbor. I did not understand where all my negative thinking came from. A large part of it came from that relationship. Now that I visit only a couple times a week, I feel better.

blue: Sorry that happened to you. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, guys!

I'm even more peeved right now. He wants to apologize to me now, but I don't want any part of it. He's only apologizing because he got caught and his boss is forcing him to. Fukface

Plus, in his email, he basically blamed ME for his actions and tried to justify what he did. What an asshole
