I've been on it for 5 days and my eating is out of control. I was leaving the tag office and only 10 minutes to home where I have a fridge full of groceries. I could easily have made a salad or toasted a bagel but NO.....I had to eat right then! I blasted through the Bi-Lo- parking lot past the pawn shop and swooped into the Wendys line silently cursing the woman who got in front of me. I ate the whole combo #2 in the car on the way home. I'd already eaten twice today. I never eat fast food. I never eat three times a day. I'm worried this med may cause weight gain. Does anybody know?

I was reading up on the side effects and weight gain is a common one. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case as I am probably going to be switching to vraylar in the summer. I've gained 70 pounds from invega (or rather, the high prolactin invega induced in me). I'm not looking to gain more. Although I am losing some weight now by doing low carb.

I don't think very many people here have tried it. When I asked about it I didn't get a lot of replies.

I hope it works out for you and you can stave off weight gain.

I was on Vraylar 1 mg. for about a week (sample pack,) and when I got to the 3mg. sample pack, I had gained a lot of weight. I immediately stopped taking it and am back on Lamictal again. My eating was out of control also and I wasn't even hungry. This is a newer drug apparently, because when I was looking for information about it, not too many people knew about it.

Try drinking lots of liquids. I gain weight on Zyprexa before, but now that I am back on it, I am able to keep my weight stable by drinking lots of liquid. In addition to the coffee and tea I consume for pleasure, I drink "as work" two pots of tea: 4 cups of black tea in the morning and 4 cups of hibiscus tea in the evening. Also, I drink tea if I still feel hungry after a meal and the feeling of hunger stops. I also eat soup every day. Via consuming high qualities of fluid I have been able to avoid all weight gain so far (I began Zyprexa over a month ago).
