Waiting for the next vet appointment. My cat hasn't eaten in 24 hours. So we're going back to find out if they can see a reason. He's still stuffy so that may be the problem but he was eating more when he was stuffier. We're going to do x-rays that should be one step closer in finding out about cancer. If it's in the bone we'll know today. I am terrified. Some things are better but others aren't. And it may be as simple as needing another antibiotic. But I can't know until I see the vet.

And all this hangs on my car repair getting done on time and the dealership getting my car back to me in time. They know I have an issue here but so far I'm still waiting.

My anxiety level is sky high. I guess it's PRN time. I'm scared it will make me sleepy because I'm already tired from stress and not sleeping well for the last 5 or 6 days since the cat got sick.\

This is so hard. I lost my other cat 2 months and 1 day ago and if I find out he is suffering then this will be the last time we are cuddling. I don't want that to happen but I know it could. And I'll have to do it alone if it is today. My nieces will be here so I won't even be able to cry with my mom.

As my mother says, "Don't buy trouble." There may be a relatively simple explanation for this that is not cancer; there could be any number of things wrong with her. I know you're probably thinking the worst because of what happened with your other dear kitty.

Please know I'm hoping for the best for you and your kitty. Mine has a pancreatic tumor and I'm just holding on, hoping we'll have more and more time together with the meds I give her. But it's just heartbreaking and I get it. She's been my best friend for 15 years.

Please don't think the worse. Wait for the x-rays and blood tests and go from there. She may just have a virus or bacterial infection that can be resolved with meds and/or time. There are meds to increase appetite and special food to help with digestion.

Best of luck and know that I'm thinking of you!

I know how horrible it feels to have a sick cat. So frightening and sad. I hope and pray your day turned out well, after all.

I euthanized Noah tonight. His liver was failing, there was another area of tumor found (so growth, substantial, in 5 days), his kidneys weren't working well, and he'd lost nearly a pound in 5 days. He was suffering and now he isn't. I am heartbroken yet know it was the right decision.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Do you have another cat to love still? If not, consider a kitten. Your two loves would not want you to be alone.

I had to put my other cat to sleep 9 weeks ago. I'm going to adopt a pair of kittens soon but need some time first to try to get through both losses. I wasn't handling the first well so 2 is overwhelming. Both cats were old (21 and nearly 15) but there was almost no warning with either. Obviously with a 21 year old cat you know it can come at any time. I had about 24 hours of knowing that her kidneys were no longer putting out much urine. With the other one 2 days after the other died he developed a lump on his head that seemed to respond to antibiotics but was actually the warning sign of the cancer he most likely had. He had a cold this week but at the same time he was going into multi-organ failure and tumors were found. I didn't know how bad things were until yesterday and even then I thought I might be wrong and he'd stay at the vet's for fluids and come home just fine in a few days.

So yeah, kitten soon but first I have to get through this.
