I'm sure I'm not the only who's experienced this. I was going to give it one more day before I called my pdoc, but then I realized he's not in the office on Wednesdays. Thankfully he called me back and is putting me on 50mg Trazodone as a PRN. If that doesn't work then we'll try Seroquel (which I'm trying to avoid at all costs because of the stories I've heard from others about it. *fingers crossed*

seroquel isn't that bad, but then again I was only on it a week or less because i was allergic to it. But while I was on it, i was very sleepy,so if that's what you need it for, then I say go for it. Maybe you can take it PRN instead of every day?

I'm gonna try the Trazodone first because it's not as sedating as Seroquel. My pdoc said that if I didn't feel it was working enough by the time I see him again in a few weeks we'll switch over to Seroquel. I'm only taking it really as a PRN because I don't want to become too dependent on it if I can help it. He's trying to keep me on as few meds as possible.

Seroquel is a godsend if you're craving sleep and can't get it. It will knock you on your @ss.

My only issue with it is the next day hangover and insatiable hunger.

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna try the Trazodone first and go from there if needed.

If you've gone three days without sleep then you have far more serious problems than possible medication side effects. You are setting up yourself for a powerful mania with a subsequent devastating depression.
Thanks for this!

Trazodone is activating for me, all ADs are. But good luck.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that doesn't happen, but I am well aware of the potential consequences. This is the main reason I called my pdoc today.
