If one or 2 other things don't work I'm going to be trying this soon. I've been waking from nightmares every night for weeks and the things we've tried haven't worked. I'm hesitant because I tend to have a low BP but I'll do anything to sleep all night and wake up rested. If you've tried it is it really sedating or more just stops the nightmares? How quickly did it help?

I take prazosin for nightmares. It works really well and isn't sedating at all. It actually helps with flashbacks as well for me. I have a low BP too but it's not so low that I can't take it. I started it in the hospital and the first night I took 1mg and that didn't help but the next night it started working at 2mg so you don't really need to build up levels in your system.
Hope it helps you if you do decide to start taking it. |

I used it a long time, either it eventually stopped bad dreams or the dreams stopped cause when I stopped taking it the dreams and nightmares didn't return.

I took it a couple years ago for nightmares. It really helped but it dropped my blood pressure way to low.
