I dont post very much but i was wondering if you guys have any tips or techniques that could help me sleep.
I've tried turning off all lights, tv etc. I've also taken 1.5mg of Clonazepam but it didn't work. I have been awake for over a day now. I fear if im awake much longer things will get worse, any ideas?
Thanks!

Cherry juice, bread and turkey; all of those foods have heavy contents of natural melatonin (the brain's sleep hormone).

I personally listen to a bunch of music, write, work out (shoot baskets) and/or play piano. Just keep my mind active until it can relax, again. If none of this works, I make myself lay down for a few hours, even if I don't sleep, my body needs rest.

what's sleep anyway.

i've not slept properly for so long, it just never affects me (I sometimes even think my body is magic, because I never feel tired) in reality, everyone should at some stage
so no ideas sadly

hope you get some sleep soon though

I get what you mean but i need to keep a schedule as i am a carer for my mum who needs me to basically run the house. If i wasn't then i dont think it would bother me that much.

My first therapist recommended no electronics 30 mins before bedtime. She also recommended that I read or do something like Sudoku. The idea is to tire out the eyes and mind.

Hopefully you can get some sleep soon.

There is an app for iPhone called "Calm". It has "sleep stories" on it. These always work for me.

The sheep in my sleep just stand there and look at me, like they are asking me to help them sleep lol

I find if I can exhaust myself, avoid late doses of caffeine and stay away from visually stimulating things, I have a fighting chance to get some sleep. At least a couple of hours before it's time to pee, or I get the restless calf thing going on.

Hey. I'm Sorry you can't sleep. Insomnia sucks big time. I wish I had good suggestions-
Mine are kind of dumb **** I do that idk if they actually help any.
I will count backwards from 1000, come up with animals or something for each letter of the alphabet, listen to music, read an old chemistry textbook, sleep w my childhood teddy bear.
Hhmmm. Maybe these should go on the list of what not to do bc they have quite a high failure rate! Sorry.
I usually eventually get out of bed if unsuccessful bc lying there not sleeping is torture.
