Anyone have any tattoo ideas or already have a tat for their MI??

[trigger] I had a sui attempt a few years ago and was left with a gaping 6" long scar on my wrist so my only option was to wear a sweat band or get it covered. Well I got sick of sweat bands. I now have a skeleton key over it with designs around it. Skeleton keys open more than one door. I like to say I've closed the doors of my past by covering my scar and I'm ready to open new ones toward recovery.

Well being the ink addict that I am, I want more. I like the idea of a Phoenix rising from the ashes although it's common. Also like the semicolon idea. Anyone else have any ideas??

I'm planning on getting the theatrical comedy and tragedy masks. I feel that sums up how I feel about my bipolar.

I went in for a tattoo 3 times but each time I was so drunk they just kicked me out and told me to come back when I was sober.
I wanted a purplish grey storm cloud with some blue lightning bolts and some blackish blue, it would have taken up my full forearm. The storm cloud was my brain and lightning bolts were the sheer power of my mental energy, both good and bad

Sounds like a manic/inebriated moment. At times I can't tell the difference.

Most reputable artists will not ink someone who is drunk. Alcohol can cause reduced clotting factors which increases your risk of infection.

Not to mention it's messy with the extra blood in the ink.

Trust me the mess is the least of their worries. What they don't want if a customer ending up in the hospital from sepsis at the worst or have the bleeding cause the ink to leech out.

I'm on blood thinners and never had a problem with tattoos or piercings.

I want a day of the dead skeleton straddling and playing the cello and I'd like a semicolon worked out in the design. I want this on my lower side of my calf.

I have to come up with a design for my right forearm to cover the self harm scars. I got my left forearm covered in may and it's beautiful. It's sort of a combination memorial tattoo for my husband and a symbol of one of the only happy things from my childhood. A hummingbird and dogwood flowers. I don't know if I should go with another floral design on my right arm to compliment the left arm. I already have a daffodil tattoo which is the other flower that symbolizes hope to me.

Oh but daffodils would be so pretty. And I could add "I wandered lonely as a cloud" to the top for my favorite poem. Oh now I got ideas. Just need the $750 to do it lol.

For the first time in my life, I'm tempted to get a tattoo---the semicolon one. I've never self-harmed, but I want it on the inside of my wrist where so many have.

I got mine about a month before it exploded on social media it's no really about self harm it's really about not offing yourself and mental illness in general .

I'm glad I have it, I have had many conversations with strangers, half show me there's, the others either struggle with MI or know someone who does.

Tattoos are addictive for most, I started with one and now have 4. It's a endorphin rush lol

All mine have been well thought out, I don't wanna wake up one day and have a unicorn tattooed on my ***** lol
