I have a journal for when I feel oddly up or down. I just went through a small hypo phase last month, 1/18, and I am going through another one today. It's been slowly building over the last few days but I feel it now. I just feel like I overly love my life, I feel overly sexual, overly talkative, and paranoid I'm annoying everyone around me, spending money more recklessly.
I find it odd I'm going through these moods so often, it's about once a month for about a week at a time. So I guess my question is, is this normal with a bipolar II diagnosis? I would ask my T, but she resigned and I have to call to reschedule for a new T. But of course, feeling more up than normal, I am pushing it off.

This sounds like rapid cycling to me. It's classified as that if you have more than four episodes a year I think. Good luck with it, that can be hard to monitor and control.

Even though you are feeling up-please get an apt with new T, also call your psych md or whoever does your meds. Because-you do not want to wind up doing too much crazystuff while you are manuc or hypomanic. Ir xan seem like no big deal....but what happens whn next month you realize you just spent $1000or more of your savings-or-you just wracked up $3000 in credit card debt-or-you did something wild at work and lost your job!
So, while you are still thinking ckearly-call your md. You did the first smart move-posting here. Sometimes, doc needs to tweak your meds-can help. |

Personally, it would be my psychiatrist that I would turn to. If they are unavailable get yourself down to your family doctor. They will no what to do next.
I agree that you do something about this now before you find yourself fully in mania and doing something risky or that you otherwise might regret. |

Yeah, I agree. I think the therapist would be the least useful of the three for this. FWIW, and not to get personal, but with the kind of time parameters you've mentioned, it might be worth investigating if hormones are playing any role.

Thanks guys. I just started abilify 2mg on Monday night - I will call my doc first thing Monday and let her know this is happening (they are closed on weekends and I will have my best friend keep on eye on me until then.) My doctor is aware of my situation, she found me my office with therapist and pdoc, so if I can't get a hold of my pdoc, I'm sure she will squeeze me in.
And as for hormones - I am on the nexplanon implant and do not ovulate so I'm not sure if it's hormones. Or maybe it is, my body could still could change hormones once a month, but I don't notice because the periods are gone. My old therapist did mention I do rapid cycle but I didn't think I would cycle this quickly. Weirdly enough, I don't see as much depression as I used to.
