Every year- my bipolar acts up from daylight savings time. For the past three years, I've had medication changes due to DST. I hate daylight savings time, adjusting to it is a real *****.

I'm fighting the good fight- still doing my best to get sleep, take meds early, and I've found that talking to others- texting will slow down my mind for a bit. My daughter is a big help too.

But if I don't have something to focus on- my mind just tries to take off. I know this will settle down in two weeks but it's a long wait for my brain to adjust to the light change.

Just sending good vibes to everyone experiencing this- it's unreal for it to be 5:30, light, and snow on the ground. Mother Nature is having a good laugh right now

Sorry that you struggle with DST.
I have the opposite problem the short dark days of winter totally depress me.
I love the long bright days of summer it does me so much good.
Hope you adjust to it soon. I know it can be tough.

In the current state I live in(Oklahoma) last year there was talk of no longer having DST due to affects it has on people.

In winter I get depressed without the help of the right cocktail. This year I found one! My winter was actually good. Now my challenge is spring and summer. I deal with hypo and my major enemy mania. I have bp1 and my mania is bad.

Fishingfool- I hear you; I have problems when the clocks go back in the fall- I get into a major depression. Both of the time changes are hard on me, just different ways.

The spring forward its more of the manic trying to get out. On the plus side, I am handling this way better than I have in previous years.

Congrats on finding the right cocktail, Coco! That's awesome that Oklahoma is talking about getting rid of DST.

That's me in a nutshell. I can't stand it when it's dark at 4:30 in the afternoon; I do much better when DST comes around in the spring and I LOVE it when the sun doesn't set until after 9. I actually wish TPTB would leave us on DST year-round, but at least we're on it for longer than we are on standard time.
