I because slightly hypomanic after 11pm and am having fun with music full blast, listening to Tim McGraw if anyone cares. And i took my meds including Lithium and all a sudden my head feels a subtle buzzing feeling. And i got up out of the computer chair and realized how tired i physically feeling. It's like the hypomania collided with the Lithium kicking in. anyone feel funny like that when the dose kicks in? usually i feel it about an hour after taking it. I took it at 12:30am or shortly after and now it's timewarp (timechange) to 3:04am. So little over an hour give or take before it started to kick in i think tonight. When i was on Tegretol i never noticed when it "kicked in". Lithium must be way different. What other meds do you guys feel "kick in"?

I take Lithium and don't feel it kick in at all. For me I feel some anti-psychics, benzodiazepines and stimulants kick in. Is it possible your symptoms are not because of the lithium?

I didn't feel Lithium kick in when I took it. I think it's just a constant therapeutic level going...hence the blood tests. Like Wander said, stimulants and benzodiazepines tend to have a mild "kick in." I felt Seroquel, an anti-psychotic kick in in the sense I became sleepy.

I have had a couple of antidepressants take effect fairly quickly when I started them (rather than the standard 4-6 weeks)...Wellbutrin and Lexapro, for me.

Keep posting. xo

I'm pretty sure that it's the lithium. The first time I took it, after an hour my whole body felt really weird. I can't explain it.
