In the time I've been here, I haven't seen anybody complaining about either of those.

Have fallen twice in the shower, once in the tub and one from my bike.
Also hit two steel poles with my car for lack of decision. It was either left or right, not straight.
I've been afraid of riding my motorcycle with this thing. It's been a few months.

I drove in the mountains last week Vegas to Zion Nat Park , something I'm not used to do, since I live in Florida that is flatter than my *****.
Anyway I was much better before this. I drove the Coast in Cal coming down fron San Francisco to LA late afternoon to early night. I had problems, but not
like now. I terrified of the left curves.
I accelerate going in and brake
going out. Totally opposite to the right way.

My distance is a joke. I try to grab things and they are farther or closer that my aim.
I vape, and to screw and unscrew the atomizer to fill the liquid is a real chore.

I blame the meds. Even if I'm older than Mathusalem, I can't have lost it all in a few months of depression.

The meds I've taken: Lamotrigine, Lithium, Wellbutrin, Abilify, Vistaril, Xanax and Klonopin a long time ago.
I don't take Lithium anymore, but it could be the culprit. Now, on Abilify, I have double vision and palpitations seating down.

I'm I the only one with this?.

I have balance issues because my meds lower my blood pressure which was low to begin with. I had to have ankle reconstruction surgery after I got out of the car too fast when I was late for therapy. I fell and tore a bunch of stuff. Sadly enough I wasn't even actually late.

I don't like to have to drive. Balance, distance and liability.

I experience both of these. I have terrible balance - I can't kayak and climb anymore. I even have trouble in the shower. I fell off a bank of snow most recently. My eyesight is not the greatest. It seems to change as the day progresses - I'm told lamotrigine might be cause for this. In the mornings it is blurry. By midday I am seeing 20/20 but by dark I feel I'm not seeing as well as I should. I only drive if I absolutely must (maybe twice a month). Although the balance issue prevents me from doing things I love it is the troublesome eyesight that bothers me the most.

Apparently I brake hard when driving. Guessing I can't measure distance very well. Even when my prescription for my glasses change, still no luck.

Because of my meds and my broken hip (10 months ago) I walk like Quasimodo on a bender.

I am on several meds and can't tell which ones(s) cause the balance problems and the further I try to walk the worse it becomes.

I'm told the lamictal is the issue. The more I'm on the worse my balance.

I can't balance anymore, either. Maybe it isn't the meds, though. I'm aging -- 75 years old at the end of this month. I've had this balance problem for years, but it's worse now. I tried to ride a bicycle and fell off. I was a good bicyist till about 18 years ago, but back then, I'd moved to a busy-traffic city, and was so afrid to ride I sold my bike. Bought another one about a year ago, and when I fell off, I sold it back to the store where I got it. (I also have a distance problem, in a small but significant way, which I've written about below). For 15 years I've had grab bars all over the bathroom. Just got a new grab bar this month. Could not wash my hair or stand up in the shower, so got a sliding bench with a shower hose. Was afraid I'd fall off the toilet, so got a portable stand-seat with arms. As for distance, for about 20 years, since I started meds, I have to pay huge attention to where reach in the kitchen. I carefully watch my hand as I pick something up, or put something down. If I put something on the drainboard, I have to pay attention, or I will set on the edge and it will fall off the drainboard and break.

Sheesh. I thought I was the only one who had these problems. My balance is terrible---I can't even go up or down stairs without a handrail because I will fall. I did it in church on Christmas, of all days. I also have trouble with depth perception and must be very aware of where I am in space at all times, or I do things like knock stuff over and park in two stalls. So I overcompensate by making deliberate, glacial moves as if I were an old woman. It's better than falling or breaking things.

Yeah, I forgot about parking. I can't park straight. Sometimes I try three times with no cars on the sides, at the malls, to no avail.
Thank you all for your replies. And I thought I had an exclusive. I'll have to change my ways a little. Like not driving to Bryce Canyon when is beginning to snow.

Just in case it helps, I take paroxetine and lamotrigine. After the meds, I stopped having vertigo and dizziness I used to feel on a weekly basis. I even suspected of labyrinthitis for a while because of this and a constant buzz/vibration in my ears whenever I tilted my head to a specific position.

All of my meds list "dizziness" as a side effect. I have low blood pressure, too. I have some "eating issues" and don't eat much food, either. (Personal battle that isn't something I want to get into...but, admittedly, it's a factor.)

Last year, I was standing in front of my bathroom sink, felt dizzy and stepped backwards, attempting to "steady" myself. I misjudged the distance.

I fell on my rear end, hard, in the bathtub. The bad part was that the back of my skull directly hit the ceramic soap dish holder - full force. I couldn't get out of the bathtub...boyfriend heard me screaming in pain. It hurt...a lot. The head impact.

Pain, blood, ER, brain scans (a handful of tests, MRI, etc., including stroke as one of my pupils was widely dilated and the other wasn't). Checked out "ok" except my skull was split open in the back/fractured. Hurt, too.

After the tests came back OK, they used a stable gun on the back of my fractured skull. Returned to the hospital a week later for post-exam and staple removed. Obviously, I had a concussion and "spaced out" for a couple of months. Couldn't read, etc.

There have been others but that one was the most memorable. Not recommended. 0/10

pirilin, Abilify gave me double vision for six months. Disconcerting. It disappeared at six months - while still on the med. I was worried it would be permanent. Hope yours goes away, hang in there. I've taken almost all the meds you listed. Lithium, walking disaster. Fell down two flights of stairs. Ugh.
Thanks for this!
