Dr. Dic (my new name for him) Screwed up my lamictal dosage and won't prescribe the correct dose. The adjustment is from 400-300/day which is not kewl. Were only suppose to adjust 10 mg/week...not 100 in a day. Grrrr. Ouch

He had his front staff block my request for the correct dosage by getting them to harass me about how I was SUPPOSE to see a pdoc...but we never agreed on anything. Dr dic won't even fix his eff up!

Today we've been distracted and fogged out. Reality really took a different twist so much that we left work early. It made a bad day worse.

We hate this SOB...wrote him a ****** review...and looking to find another doc with this exremely crappy insurance. Most likely it will have to be out of pocket, so we are working 6 days a week to do this.

We have several bottles of 150 mg....dicing a few up to taper us down correctly to stay sane....

Were going try to find another MD covered by our insurance...or just quit doctors and meds all together. We/I don't need this sheat.

(((Hugs))). Dr Dic sounds like an appropriate nick name. I'm sorry you are dealing with this mess and understand more than you may know. (((More hugs)))

I want to add....any suggestions as to what to do?

Call him back demanding a correct dose? Report him? Key his car?

Sounds like a huge headache.

A reasonable doctor would correct a dosage error.
Why isn't he correcting it?

Do you think asking again may yield better results?

I'd go to urgent care if need be and explain.

I would go ahead and look for a pdoc. I don't think regular MD's are equipped to treat bipolar, and Dr. Dic is an example. For me, going off meds would not be an option.

I can understand wanting me to find a pdoc...but at least correct that which you have written. I'm looking for another GP also as of now.

Where are you getting the idea this is an incorrect dosage to begin with?

Only because it isn't what I have been taking. We had no talk about changing anything let alone have a 100 mg drop in one day.....deadly- or more painful then anything. I hate curling up in a ball crying like the last time.

Your post is terrific. Dr Dic, indeed

It sounds like the man changed your Lamictal dose without bothering to inform you. I'd find another pdoc, but in the meantime you need your medication, so get in touch with Dr. Dic and ask him WTF?

I was on 150mg when I was there at first then we upped it. He screwed up and won't fix it.

We already did. He had his front desk coldly cut us off on the phone.

Trust me, the Others thought abought going and causing a scene....but that would just be totally embarrassing because most likely the Angry One will get triggered and probably get us kicked out or arrested: it will be bad.

So, it's a cold war, bad reviews and a new doctor.

We are weaning on 7 bottles of 60 pills....going to 300 or off altogether. Will have another doctor before we run out.
