Has anyone else had to deal from hand tremors caused by their bipolar meds. I have tried drinking more water and propranolol but none of it helps.

I am just wondering how others deal with it.

When I tried Abilify I did, and worse (hallucinations and delirium). I called my doc and got help from her.

I have had them forever, but I am on a lot of meds. I saw a neurologist for them. He said they are extrapyrimidal syndrome. (I hope I spelled that right). My arms also shake quite a bit if I am doing push ups.
I just ignore them too. I use pump style stuff in the shower to make it easier than to deal with shaky hands.

Lithium gives me a hand tremor. Mostly I've just accepted it.

Yes cogentin. I've never been on it but I heard it helps. My Wellbutrin makes me shaky and it's embarrassing when I'm in public handing someone money or out to eat and I'm shaking like a drug addict on speed. Lithium gave me really bad tremors too.

Lithium. Propanolol didn't help. Water did.
On abilify and wellbutrin now. Small tremors.

I have hand tremors. It makes it somewhat difficult to eat small veggies with a fork and my handwriting has gone to hell in the proverbial bushel basket, but otherwise they don't bother me that much.

Some days the hand tremors are bad enough that I can't even work the clasp on a bracelet. Other days not at all.

I have a bad tremor from Latuda, hands, arms, legs, and jaw. Cogentin helps calm the tremor somewhat.

I'm dealing with some hand tremors on Seroquel. They aren't that noticeable to others, but I can feel them. Sometimes my hands are unsteady when I do certain things, like reach for something small on my dressor...little things like that. This didn't happen until I was on a high dose. I've just been dealing with it for now and hoping it doesn't get worse. I get nervous about Tardive Dyskenisia.

With mine it is very noticeable when I am doing fine motor skill type things. Also I drop a lot of things and feel uncoordinated.

I started Lithium in 2006. That year, I shook a lot, but I noticed it occurred at a certain time of day and lasted about 2 hours. In 2007, the tremors completely went away.

My understanding is as follows: if hand tremors are a side effect of an antipsychotic (yes, EPS), then Cogentin can help alleviate or remove them. If it is a side effect of another type of drug, then only going off that drug (or dosage removal) can help. I had severe hand tremor on Depakote (worse than what my grandmother had after a stroke in old age) and I had to go off of it (Depakote also produced severe weight gain and blood clotting problems, so there were several reasons why I went off of it).

Yes, lithium. But they aren't severe. They only happen sometimes. Mostly it bothers me when I can't write well and have old lady handwriting.

Quetiapine made my hand shake (and gave me blood clots), Depakote didn't and now I'm on Lithium the shake's back. It's not too bad but seems to kick in when I'm typing which is annoying. I've also developed an occasional twitch in my leg but my doc doesn't seem too concerned about it.
