Hi guys and girls.

I have been going through a four month depression and for the last month I have been on Lithium and Wlebutrin. I always drink coffee and it helps me get moving but nothing to crazy.

Today I had my usual coffee during my Global Marketing class and today i feel really energized and my mind has grown back its wings. I feel good about life but no real euphoria and hallucinations or anything.

I feel like I might be getting manic because a few things happened today that usually depict my mania.

1. I heard a really sick beat while passing one of the recording studios in my school and I had to sit there a rock out to it.

2. I have become "hyper-sexual"

3. I am very interested in everything and I volunteered last minute today for the fashion show tonight at my school.

4. I started twirling my hair which is something I tend to do when more manic.

Could I be going manic? I usually don't realize when I am revving up.
Could this be because the welbutrin?

Agh... everything is just rushing and Im not sure if its from the coffee or my mood has shot up.
Hugs from:

Hi there....Wellbutrin caused me full mania (I have bp1) even with a mood stabilizer. But I know some people might be able to take it. I was also on a AP too. Talk with your psychiatrist about what's going on.

We are all different but ai cannot take wellbutrin. I was on it before I was diagnosed with bipolar (while I was being treated for depression. I'm not quite sure what the side effects were other than stomach aches at that time. We were not really looking out for mania and that time period is all a blur, lol. I started taking it again after going on a mood stabilizer and antipsychotic. After about three days, I get symptoms of mania. I don't touch it.

Hi, There are many mental health places...hospitals, wellness centers, etc....that do not allow any kind of coffee except decaf. Caffeine can most definitely cause mania.

It induces mania in high concentrations. Mainly to those who go manic to start with.
