I have a new job, I've only been there a month and a half and I feel so overwhelmed. I'm working at a nonprofit and there's not enough time in my day to do everything that is asked of me. I'm struggling to learn everything and because I don't feel confident I feel anxious and tense.

Every day it is a battle to remain calm and not break down at my desk because the anxiety is so powerful. I am trying to do so many things to battle my anxiety. I started running and doing yoga. I bought essential oils (lavender) which I read are very helpful for anxiety. I downloaded apps for journaling and meditating.
I'm currently on Alprazolam (xanax) but I was just switched to it and it is a very low dosage of .25mg. I feel it works but some days I have to take a second one after a few hours.

I have a history of leaving jobs when I can't handle my anxiety or get super depressed. I'm trying to take it day by day. My friends, family, and boyfriend try to be supportive but no one really understands, they just don't get how bad it gets for me.

I wake up from nightmares that have to do with work and last night I didn't sleep at all. When the anxiety is at it's worse I just want to run. But it took me so long to secure this job and the way things are right now I need my insurance.

I do see my therapist often. I see a new psychiatrist next week. I wonder if I should have him increase my dosage on the xanax?

I ran 4 miles today and that calmed me a bit. I've been drinking more these days too because it calms me down.

How do you manage your worse anxiety?

Need some positive vibes

I'll send some good vibes, and that's about the best I can do.

My anxiety has been held at bay by the combo of Latuda and gabapentin. Those two together seem to do a good job of taking it down several notches. I very rarely use Klonopin to alleviate things if they get bad. Best of luck with your new job.

You sound quite uncomfortable with the level of anxiety you are experiencing.

It seems like you are doing lots of things to try to counter your anxiety.
Congrats on that!

Do you take meds in addition to Xanax?

Sometimes, other meds are used to address anxiety, meds like antidepressants and others.

I think the timing is great on seeing a psychiatrist, as a med adjustment (or addition) may prove very helpful to you.

(((((( Good Vibes ))))))
