Same here. I've always had a thing for coffee and iced tea, since I was 7 or 8 years old. I am guilty of overusing caffeine to keep a budding hypo/manic episode going, but it doesn't make me that way. I can't even imagine going without it...every time I have surgery, I come out of the anesthesia with a fierce headache and begging for coffee!

I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but I drink way too much soda. I keep saying I'm going to cut back, but it's yet to happen. It doesn't seem to have an impact on my mood, unless I have way to much.

I avoid caffeine. If I have it, whether it's in coffee, soda or tea, it does make me a bit hypo and if I drink it past noon I can count on not sleeping at all for the night. But, I do love sweet tea and indulge once in awhile. I grew up in the south... I can't help it... you can't completely separate a southern girl and her sweet tea.

I'm sure that caffeine has some affect on a person's mood, but I think years of highly caffeinated drinks have made me relatively immune to mood swings and spikes. I personally cannot function well without some good old Mountain Dew in my cup. I'm not much of a coffee person.
