I am really blessed to have a wonderful pdoc. My lithium levels were only .4 so he upped me to 1200mg total of lithium a day. He also increased my lamictal from 100-200. I have been kinda up and down lately my insomnia is really bad so he also added Restoril for sleep. I am really paranoid about taking benzo's and I have a script for 60 xanax a month as needed. My pdoc told me I need to take them more often and that I have been to judicious with the use of them. He explained when the time is right we will do a taper off of the xanax but right now I should be taking them for my quality of life which can be really poor at times. I am lucky to have such an open relationship with my doctor to bad he isn't covered by my insurance but I refuse to give him up. Sorry about the rant.

If people couldn't post rants here, you wouldn't see nearly as many posts as you do! No worries. That's what we're here for. I'm glad you are having a great experience with your pdoc (actually I'm a little jealous). And if he works for, I say keep going if you can. It's always hard to find the good ones.

Isn't that the way- find a great Dr and your insurance doesn't cover them?

You are very fortunate.
I have a very good pdoc, too, for which I am very grateful.

Rant? I did not see a rant.

I am very fortunate as well to have a really good pdoc and therapist. Ironically, I picked them because they were covered by my insurance. They no longer are.
