I'm down to 1. Its a heavy-hitter (30mgs Abilify), but...yeah. I can concentrate better. My mood is even, maybe on the happier end of normal. Sleep is good.

I do take loads of high dose supplements (Orthomolecular). I was very sensitive to tranquilizers, so I think the Orthomolecular may explain why I can take a full 30mgs/Abilify without tics, tremors, etc., and I definitely don't have TD.

Anyway...its strange. I was down to 1200/Trileptal on top of the Abilify, and I gradually dropped it, and now I sleep better. I also have more energy during the day. My anxiety is surprisingly a-okay, but that might be general growing up/maturation, plus Orthomolecular has vitamins in it for anxiety...and I've been popping l-theanine like a mad man.

You know what's weird? I told my counselor I'd dropped the wellbutrin because I felt on edge, and he looked kinda frustrated, maybe even a bit angry, and then he asked me if I'd considered dropping counseling and going to just "med management" . ((Its a public/community mental health clinic)).

ugh. Mental Health, Inc. So...frustrating....

If it works for you, keeps you stable and healthy, why not?

Orthomolecular approaches are interesting. I used to see an orthomolecular specialist, maybe 25 years ago. Some supplements seemed helpful, others not so much. As my illnesses became more complicated and my "Ortho" doc moved across the country, I've gotten away from it.

The l-theanine is that helpful with anxiety?
I'm glad you are doing so well!

hi. well, I take 3-6 grams B3 (I prefer the niacinamide form) per day. The old school OM people said the B3 was supposed to slowly correct the brain problems that led to psychosis, but...for me, it seems to help anxiety+agitation. The l-theanine (I take the Suntheanine brand, because The Internet told me to...) helps, too, but I have to take a lot of it. Mine are 150mgs per capsule. I take 5 AM and I try to remember to take 5 PM, so that's 1500mgs/Suntheanine, when I remember both doses.

I'm happy. I have no problem with psych drugs, I'm just at a point in my life where I felt I was having more probs from the extra psych drugs than I was deriving any major benefit, so I decided to see if I could get back down to just the Abilify (plus supplements, of course). So far, so good.
