Has anyone noticed that they do not feel depressed if they eat very little food? Or, is it likely that the mood has already gone up and is the reason why little food is being eaten?

When I first read this, it made no sense to me. The first sentence still doesn't.

But on the second, a lightbulb went off. Is it kind of a chicken or egg question? I definitely say the mood is already elevated, so less food is being eaten (for some people) on account of having "no time" what with having so many fantastic ideas that have to happen RIGHT NOW. But only eating a little would not cause the elevation. (I'm assuming we're talking BP elevation as in hypo/mania).

It'd be nice if it was something as simple as eating more or less, but it's definitely not. No cause and effect there. Eating healthy is always a good idea regardless.

I do know Carbs bog me down and if I eat to many I feel like I'm falling into depression.

Not sure if that helps

No, when I'm depressed I don't want to eat much. It's hard to do anything.

I eat too much no matter what mood I'm in. I have to be severely depressed to slow down.

I wish I did eat less, when I'm depressed I eat more unfortunately. I've never paid attention to how much I eat when I'm elevated. I don't believe my mood is determined by my eating habits though.

Fasting is supposed to have beneficial health and mood effects? Not saying do it for too long. Maybe just look into it as a cleanse. Like a raw food diet. I have not done it, but I'm interested.

When in my worst depression, I stop eating. When going on an upswing, I stop eating.
