I went to my first support group meeting last night. It was really therapeutic being with people who are like me. I've never even known anyone with bipolar or anything like it. One guy was full on hypomanic. This was interesting to see in another person (other than me). Just an interesting perspective. Just thought I'd share. It was a good experience for me. I felt a little less alone.

I love my NAMI bipolar group! I walk in there and it's like a mountain has been lifted off of my shoulders. And I learn so much. And it's free! What a great deal.

Definitely keep going.

I have always found support groups to be very helpful. I go to a group, and I facilitate a group.

I'm really glad you're enjoying your new group.

I'm glad it went well for you! I need to get into one soon. there are not many close ones but I guess it's worth the ride

Hi Jennifer, Have you checked to see if NAMI has a support group in your area?

This thread is making me want to attend a meeting. I was looking up NAMI and DBSA meetings yesterday. The DBSA ones are held down the street from pdoc's office.
