Do you think it's normal to wonder if your employer is watching your every keystroke on the computer? They can install programs to do this that monitor productivity, particularly larger companies do it.
I don't have any evidence that this has happened. I think my fear is partly due to my extreme fear of getting fired. I was fired without warning once. Is this normal or is it bipolar paranoia? I can't let go of the feeling -- it's always simmering in the back of my head. |

It's a normal thing for employers to do, in order to protect their interests. You have to expect that your employer is logging everything you do on their devices. You have zero privacy protections for doing personal things on company devices; computers, phones, copy machines, networks. It's all tracked, and don't assume that because you're employed by a small company that they're not doing it. The technology is dead simple and cheap to implement. Courts have upheld the right by companies to do this, so if you're doing something against your company's policies I'd suggest stopping it right away.

It could be either paranoia or not, but as bioChE said, there's nothing to say they're not doing it. This time you might want to go with your gut.
