How do your pdoc and therapist (if you have them) respond to you when you admit you're manic, mixed, or depressed?
-- Therapist? Ignores my mania, but cares when I'm mixed or depressed. She'll let my pdoc know if I'm mixed or depressed, but never manic. (Weird.) Pdoc? "You're on your own, sucka! Take some Klonopin and come back in 1 week if you're not better." ![]() |

My T is very concerned when I show the slightest sign of psychosis. When depression hits she reminds me to take care of my hygiene. She's never seen me manic.
Old Pdoc was very concerned when I was mixed and my affect didn't match what I was saying. I think I was almost hospitalized for that one. New Pdoc I haven't been manic or mixed around him. He quickly dealt with psychosis the first time I was there didn't really seem to care the second time I was there and he doesn't need to see me again until September.

My tdoc is concerned when I have depression with suicidal ideation and will ask me to contact my pdoc. My pdoc is concerned about depression with SI but he seems more concerned with my sleeping patterns. Best wishes.

My pdoc is my T, thankfully.
He's very concerned when I am going through severe and prolonged depression. He's not nearly as concerned about hypomania. ![]() WC |

My T is concerned about the depression, especially if I get suicidal. I don't think he catches on the mania or hypomania as much. I would think he would have since he's been around so long.
My current pdoc is new, and she seems to be on the ball with things. My previous pdoc would go with the flow, so to speak. |

If I tell (I really only tell if I'm really ill like sever paranoia or delusions).... They are all very caring towards me. My CPN will make sure I am doing okay or will up my meds. He has been known to call me up to check up on me. My Community Worker checks I am doing reasonably well and tells my CPN when she goes back to the office who then contacts me and makes sure I am okay. My Psychologist spoke to me and made sure I was safe enough but told my CPN who again checks up on. My Psychiatrist I have never been manic while there but he is aware of my history through my CPN.

I've never told anyone I'm manic...they tell me and are very concerned, mixed is noticeable too...I am uncharacteristicly irritable but I complain lots about it and meds are adjusted in both cases Ts tell me to notify Pdocs severe depression is easier to talk about but doesn't Warrant as much concern unless my hygiene is affected or I'm having suicidal thoughts.

My T notices everything and helps me manage all stages of BP. He is especially concerned when I lose insight, get very suicidal, shoot up into hypomania bordering on mania (he is more relaxed with mild hypomania) or get very depressed. He contacts my pdoc when needed and usually an emergency appointment is arranged.
My pdoc is great. He addresses the problem swiftly with med changes or IP if needed. When I am stable I hardly see him but he always keeps appointments available so I can get in quick if things change.
