Is this test used only if you're currently on medications or does it suggest a medication that you could take? I think I would be interested in doing it. Is the genesight one the best recommended one?

I don't know if it's for you are currently on meds but it does suggest which ones work best (supposedly). Genesight is the one my pdoc gave me. I don't know how other companies rank.

No, that's for background/origin/possible genetic disease testing.

Boogie is talking about a specific genetic test for psychological issues. The proponents claim it can identify which meds will and won't work for you.

From the impression I got the test will tell you genetically which meds you should be able to tolerate based on how you metabolize them. Not necessarily that they will work. GeneSight uses a green, yellow, red light system to categorizes the different meds. They also test liver enzymes to see how quickly you breakdown the meds.
Thanks for this!
