I've never heard of these before going to the hospital.

Anyone know anything about them?

Yes. Celexa is an SSRI antidepressant. For me, it worked well. I took it for many years.

Remeron, or mirtazipine, is also an anti-depressant, but it is used for other reasons...insomnia, mood issues, anxiety, and other things. Personally, it did not help me in any way. But many people find it useful.

I take Remeron and it helps a few issues, as Laurie has said. It helps with my mood, anxiety and the added benefit of helping me sleep. Some people gain weight when they take it but I haven't gained any. I'm on 45mg. I've found it to be an overall good med. Been on it for a little over 3 years in combination with other meds.

Remeron helped with my insomnia and also lifted my mood it eventually made me manic so we had to discontinue. Celexa as far as the ssri's go wasn't as bad as the others for me. two antidepressants can be a little dangerous for bipolar unless you are really depressed just watch for signs of mania and you will be fine

Celexa turned me into a monk. My sex drive evaporated.

Celexa is a reliable friend of mine. It has kept me company, off and on now, for at least 10 years. It's one of the SSRI meds I can tolerate. It calms my agitation, helps me to sleep and works as an anti-depressant.
I keep the dose at 20 mg or lower.

I discontinue this if/when I become hypomanic.
