Last week my pdoc changed my meds and added an anti depressant. The effects of the new meds are kicking in and I am beginning to feel a bit better. I have been in a deep depression for a long time. Hopefully, this feeling will last and I won't slide into mania right away. Hopefully, when the mania does come, I will be able to handle it with the meds. I explained to my doctor that I am looking for balance in my treatment.

She expressed concern. She said that some bipolar patients use the anti depressants to achieve a feeling of euphoria. That is not the case with me. I am just trying to get to a point where I can function for an extended period without retreating to my bed.

Right now, I am seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel.
