Of all the articles and post I've read everyone describes mix state in bipolar as having symptoms of both depression and mania/hypo. But it just doesn't seem clear to me. Call me stupid but can anyone either help me understand if what I just went through was a mixed episode or a more agitated hypomanic episode.

Several weeks ago my pdoc upped my (baby dose) of abilify and I started to feel the rise if get at the start of my hypo episodes. I was starting to sleep more followed by sleeping way under my normal amount for several days. And feeling up up with obsessions and loosing my filter. I noticed I was jumping from on thing to the next and was thinking I was falling into another episode but low and behold everything was different. I was having anxiety and speech issues and was always EXTREAMLY agitated yet still kinda up. My sleep crashed back down to normal but I was exhausted all the time and was so restless internally and externally all the time it felt like my skin was buzzing.

My pdoc kinda brushed off my concerns just saying it was a hypomanic ep but I'm not quite sure. Any ideas?
