Anyone miss being in hospital after they are discharged? I'm finding the transition a little difficult. I miss the routine and the staff supervision keeping me safe (I was on one-to-one most of the time there). Of course I wouldn't go back if you paid me (well, depends on how much), but at the same time I do miss some things.

I understand that. I felt that way when I was discharged.

It's nice to feel totally safe. That's all that I miss.

I miss the safety. I also miss some of the people. At one place I had really good nurses.

That's normal! It takes a bit to transition back to "freedom."

I think it's perfectly normal to like the routine and safety that the hospital gives. The trick is establishing a routine once out of the hospital so that you are busy and safe doing activities that are healthy and/or enjoyable for you. I personally find working part-time and exercising helps the most but everyone has their own interests. Perhaps it would help to try and establish a routine in your everyday life.

I definitely understand that. It's hard to transition back into "normal" life.

I understand. I wish I could go into the hospital tonight. I'm exhausted. But I have to take care of my cats.

Oh yeah. It's a safer, more structured controlled place. Plus I miss friends I made. It does get easier as time goes by, but I totally understand the feeling.
