I was sick last week for 3 or 4 days, horrible stomach pain, nausea, headaches, congestion, sneezing, coughing. I had been feeling sort of okay before then. Yesterday was okay because of my 3 dogs and 3 cats. But ever since then, I have been depressed. I usually go on a bike ride, but haven't in 5 days. I also have very little appetite. Everything overwhelms me, talking to the mailman, the neighbor saying hi. My eyes feel droopy like I'm tired. I have been laying in bed since last week since I was sick. Does being physically sick cause a mood shift? Because this sure seems like it.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. I think I'm the opposite. When I'm physically ill...the depression stops during and for some time after the illness. Sending big hugs.

I don't think it's unusual to feel depressed following an illness. I don't know why it happens, maybe it's a way for your mind to cope with your body being sick.

I have been depressed after being sick. It doesn't last too long, though. Just my body bouncing back.

Sickness makes me depressed and depression makes me sick. I hope you have a full recovery soon.

Physical and mental go hand in hand. I hope you feel better soon. Try some coping skills and self care that's what helps me
