I took both of these for almost a year and then went drug free on my own for a few months. During the time I was taking them my very thick and long hair fell out in clumps and my hairline thinned to where people were commenting on it. After a few fainting spells this February i wanted off of them but was told it was best i stay on them. I didn't listen and went off them and told only my husband. The fainting stopped. After a few months i felt terrible mood wise so i went back on them. During the months i stopped taking them my hair started regrowing and i had baby hairs everywhere. I was so happy. Oh and the acne went away too. Now that i've been on them again for a little over a month, the hair loss started back up. I can see my scalp! And the acne and other side effects are back too. I also feel dizzy a lot and noticed my blood pressure is even lower than normal. Sometimes as low as 89/58 at my last dr appt. Anyone else experience hair loss?

I lost about half the hair on my head and my body hair doubled. I wish I knew which meds was causing this but it's a side effect of more than one.

I think fainting is an unacceptable side effect. I literally almost died from it, fell hard and head hit concrete.....almost killed my little dog too. I don't know why doctors consider this an acceptable side effect and I m deeply sorry you are experiencing this.....it's so, so scary. Best not to drive I would imagine....I know I didn't want to. I lost hair from either stress or lithium. Some say it was probably the stress of episodes that caused the hair loss and others think it was the lithium....either way it sucked so hard. I know the pain of it and I'm so deeply sorry. Side effects....who needs them! But we often must take these meds or even worse things can happen. ((Hugs))

I had hair loss on Lamictal but not as bad as you are experiencing. It also gave me horrible acne.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to bring it up again at my next appt. I hate the hair loss and acne but I definitely don't want to feel horrible mentally. The fainting scares me though. The first time it happened was at work and I hit my head really hard. Hopefully I can find something else instead of the seroquel that works for me.

Hair loss can be helped with taking centrum silver (for biotin and selenium; you can buy those separately too) and a shampoo/conditioner/leave-in product called Nioxin. I lost a lot of hair after a combination of lithium toxicity that lasted a long time and my thyroid giving up on me and those things did eventually get my hair back. I know it's frustrating and I'm sorry you have to deal with this. ]\
