I've been feeling nauseous ever since stopping Lexapro. I can't eat anything without throwing up or wanting to throw up. I also threw up my meds on two different days, so now I can't even be compliant.
My pdoc is out of the office and who knows when he'll get back. It's the worst timing ever. I already feel depressed too. I left a voicemail, but I doubt he'll listen to it until he comes back, and he doesn't have a nurse to pick up. He just works for himself and by himself even though he works in a pdoc office. (And yeah, I realize now that it's such a bad idea to work with a pdoc like that for cases like this.) Does any OTC stuff help with this? It's clearly a serotonin withdrawal problem. St John's Wort? I realize you're not pdocs or anything, but I'm just wondering what you guys do for withdrawal. I'm at work right now to make matters worse. (I have no f_cking clue why I decided to go to work when I've been feeling like this since Wednesday. I'm a total moron for doing that.) BTW, I'm perfectly fine if I don't eat anything and if I don't take my meds (which sucks). It's just that I ate something and took my meds this morning. The nausea kicked in about 2-3 hours after that. |

If you didn't puke for two hours after taking your meds, it's likely that at least some of them got into your system. Do you think it would help to get into the ER and talk with a psychiatrist there about the situation?

Something over the counter for motion sickness might help. I have prescription Zophran which helps vomiting and sickness. Sorry you are sick (((hug)))

Thanks.
It's basically insta puke. My stomach is nauseous most of the time, but not all of the time, and when I try to take anything while nauseous (food, meds, water), I puke within 5-10 seconds. I'm not exggerating. It just comes right up instantly. That's how bad it is. @elsa: I wish I had a zofran Rx right now. That stuff works really well for me. Doubt my pdoc would give it to me, though. He'll probably try to make me go back on Lexapro, knowing him. I'm thankful that my mom and dad came to pick me up from work. They drove in one car together, my dad got out, and he drove me home in my car while my mom went back to work. I'm just lying in bed right now, pretty much ready to throw up, even though the only thing I ate today is a bagel @ 5:30am. (It's now 12:52pm.) |

I take my meds at night so I avoid any side effects of nausea. If I get nauseous, I'm asleep, so I don't know it. Plus I don't eat until the morning, so there isn't that aspect to worry about.

This sounds really serious and you should go seek professional help. A walk in clinic could prescribe zophan for you.
sorry you are so ill. (((((HUGS)))))) bizi
