I started Geodon a couple of weeks ago because of severe depression. I'm already on 500 mgs Lamictal, 50 mgs Pristique, Lorazepam and Ambien as needed. Lately I have been becoming increasingly paranoid. Is this a symptom of bipolar or Anxiety?

Good question......I don't know the answer but wanted to let you know I'm sorry you suffer and hope you find a solution. Maybe it's even med related? Perhaps you can ask your doctor their thoughts? Good luck.

Thank you Elsa. I was so hoping I had finally found something that would work but I'm afraid the Geodon might be making me hypo.

Are you on the max dose of Geodon? Sometimes they increase meds before removing them. I'm sorry your med is not working. Do you typically get anxiety when hypo?

Just started on 40 mgs twice daily. I always seem to have anxiety, especially general and social. It's been so long since I've been hypo. If it doesn't get better I will definitely call my doctor.

I take 240 mg of Geodon to sleep at night as well as other psychotropics and have never had any side effects with Geodon. Please call your pdoc. Sending big hugs.

Geodon gave me akathisia. I had to take cogentin with it.

Also, I just took latuda for two months and experienced severe anxiety and eventually hypomania/mixed episode. So it's possible for an AP to cause a reaction like that. Please do call your pdoc.

My therapist said she thinks bipolar should be called tripolar. Depression, mania and anxiety.

It could be both. That is one heck of a dosage of lamictal you are on.

I think I will start telling people I have Tripolar as this fits me to a T. It will confuse people too which will be an added bonus. Lol
Thanks for this!

Yeah I'm maxed out on the Lamictal but it has really helped the anger and agitation. It has helped some with the depression but not nearly enough.

It's complicated. From what I've read, you can have anxiety as a symptom of bipolar ( The Anxious Bipolar ) and you can have a separate disorder.
To complicate it more you can have med side effects. Sigh...
