I feel like I wish I could just die, and it overwhelms me all the time. Anyone got a solution to this, where you can turn these darks thoughts off, or limit them to a few minutes? I have not had decent meds since sometime in spring of 2016. And I don't even have a pdoc now at all. Still trying to find one who can help me. One quack rx/d latuda and buspar, which I take, and which do nothing. I do admit I am no longer completely out of control throwing things, though, so maybe that's why.

If you don't have a current pdoc and cannot get into see a new one quickly, would you consider seeing your primary care doc?

Are antidepressants an option for you?

What have you done in the past when feeling this overwhelmed?

I am noting a crisis hotline incase you may need it sometime:
1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255).

I use a lot of distraction when feeling very depressed.

More recently, I have found an SSRI, Wellbutrin and Abilify helpful for depression. Latuda was not enough for me. We are all very different, of course. (BP II).

What about friends? Have you been able to keep up with socializing?

I hope you find significant relief soon!

Since you don't have a pdoc, asking your pharmacist or searching online for the meds you take and what side affects they have.

https://psychcentral.com/drugs/latuda/

https://psychcentral.com/drugs/buspar/

If you have insurance, you could go to their website and see what psychiatrists offer services in your area. Some are 8-12 weeks waiting if they accept new patients so it is best to not wait till you are in a crisis where hospitalization is the only option.

If you are interested in trying lifestyle changes to see if that helps, you could consider if these are appropriate to your medical situation: eliminating sugar, alcohol and high carb foods and get adequate protein with smaller more frequent meals and snacks. When not eating often, thoughts tend to go darker for me.

Other options to consider are exercise, yoga, walking, mindfulness.

Thanks for writing. This is true of me, too: " When not eating often, thoughts tend to go darker for me." I'll check and see if the eyelid virus could be a side effect, but I doubt it. It's contagious, so I probably picked it up somewhere. There aren't any side effects. There aren't any effects at all. As for a pdoc, I have found two or maybe three. A friend has recommended one she insists I need to see,but that doctor is not calling me back. I have an appointment Sept. 1 with one, and Oct. 3 with another one, and I have insurance, so that's not a problem at all.
