For those that havent followed my posts, i was cut off from benzos suddenly by a nurse practitioner who saw sunstance abuse on my history. I dont remember how long ago that was, though, because my memory is gone. Im 24 and living with my parents again, because of my forgetfulness. I have been writing down the time and date and putting notes in a notebook. I didnt see last nights notes saying it was the 20th so i thought last night when i wrote "remember to start praying every night before bed" it was from a week ago, and i wrote it and some other things yesterday. I also have weak muscles, what feels like a constant fever, and often stare out into space or feel like im floating outside my body. My mom seriousely believes im at the memory and level of functioning of my grandpa who had a stroke and has dementia.

Quick stopping benzodiazepines or other psych meds can cause your symptoms, your brain is trying to learn how to function sans meds,

Very frustrating and scary,

Can you get a follow up appt to address these severe cognitive issues ?

Hugs

Definitely see your doctor about this. It sounds scary and I'm sorry. Several months back I had a note in my phone which read "I'm awesome and I have a sexy vagina". I don't remember writing it and nobody in my house claims writing it. Where did it come from? Would I write such a thing? I cannot imagine writing it but I imagine I must have. Did someone remotely access my phone? I don't know.......more recently a note was put in my phone which reads "family dinners". I don't remember writing it but I have been feeling guilty about our lack of consistent family dinners so perhaps I did? Memory problems are so scary and I'm sorry you are having them. I hope you find answers and feel better soon. (((Hugs)))

Abilify and risperidone both did this to me, in separate occasions. I'm missing almost a year of memory

Cogentin did this to me. I couldn't carry on a conversation and I'd ask my husband the same question ten times, not realizing I had already asked him. my heart goes out to you.

I believe lamictal is doing it to me. I have no short term memory what so ever. My long term memory is still pretty good.

I've never had good luck with a nurse practioner. Can you go over their their head and talk to an actual doctor who knows how cruel and irresponsible it is to force someone to suddenly withdraw from benzos?

Im going to see a doc in nov 2, but for now i have to see this horrible nurse. She said she wouldnt prescribe gabapentin because of my past "substance abuse." Correct me if im wrong, but gabapentin is NOT a controlled substance.
