So, I sent my husband a text yesterday informing him that our marriage is essentially over, but neither of us have anywhere else to go. We jointly own our little trailer and co- parent our dog, Sam. We have one bed and only enough income to meet our monthly needs. So, uncoupling under these circumstances is going to be challenging and largely symbolic for now.

I took my ring off and put it away. I told him we will be married on paper only until one of us is in a position to leave and file for divorce. In the mean time, we will live as roommates, continue to carry out our daily responsibilities, and treat one another with civility, but we will no longer be accountable to one another as husband and wife. He can do his thing and I will do mine

I am so very sorry for the situation you are in. Might there be an assistance program out there which could help you break free and gain independence?

The title of your thread would make a good book title. Back in the 80's there was a movie called "War of The Roses" about a couple divorcing. Perhaps you could write about the relationship issues you are having? You are dealing with very modern day issues which could be compelling to write about.....or maybe not a book for others but instead a cathartic written account of your struggles?

Good luck Jen. I hope you find happiness with someone who deserves you. Hugs!
Thanks for this!

Thank you Jennifer and Elsa Mars. I went to my CBT Depression group today and got some good feedback and support. My therapist has referred to a resource coordinator.
